If you grew up in the late ‘60’s, early ‘70’s as I did, you have to remember bell bottoms, fringes, hot pants, peace signs, and MACRAMÉ! My craft began in sixth grade in my small town in Pennsylvania where my friends and I spent long summer afternoons making macramé necklaces. The scarab beads that looked like giant beetles were the craze.

Well, I guess macramé is like riding a bike…you never forget. Whenever I needed a particular necklace or bracelet to match an outfit, I just made one! Each time one of my three children had a special event, I made them a commemorative necklace or bracelet or even rosary.
I’m not so sure of the hot pants (as we knew them), but just as the bell bottoms, fringes, and peace signs came back in style, macramé did too. My hobby evolved into a business venture with an excuse, if you will, to create more unique designs, improve my techniques, and even build a website. Of course, that is only opening the door to endless opportunities to share my other creative talents, playing the flute and crocheting.

So, just join me for the ride, and may I say that it is NEVER too late to pursue your dreams!
